WAKE UP TO LOVE

Hello, world!

HELLO, WORLD!

Have you gone deaf to Love?

Have you gone blind to beauty?

Have you forgotten
what it means
to be ALIVE?

We’re alive, Dear Mother of Love!
We’re alive!

Then where’s the Love?
Where’s the Love?
WHERE’S THE LOVE?

RIGHT HERE!
RIGHT HERE!
RIGHT HERE!

Well, don’t whisper it, children!

SING IT!
SO IT SHAKES
THE TIMBERS
OF THEIR SOULS!

WAKE UP TO LOVE!
WAKE UP TO LOVE!
WAKE UP, WAKE UP,
WAKE UP TO LOVE!

I sent my Love into the morning,
I sent my Love into the night.
I sent a thousand little songs
to set this weary world alight.

But nobody came knocking,
nobody sang along.
Has the world forgotten Love,
or forgotten how to sing a song?

WE HEARD YOU!
WE HEARD YOU!

You heard me?

WE HEARD YOU!

Then tell me, little beloveds,
what did you hear?

LOVE IS HERE!
LOVE IS HERE!

WAKE UP TO LOVE!
WAKE UP TO LOVE!
LET THE MOUNTAINS RUMBLE!
LET THE HEAVENS ABOVE!

WAKE UP TO LOVE!
LET THE WHOLE WORLD RISE!
LET THE LIGHT COME POURING
THROUGH A MILLION EYES!

STOMP YOUR FEET!
CLAP YOUR HANDS!
LET LOVE ROLL
ACROSS THE LAND!

WAKE UP!
WAKE UP!
WAKE UP TO LOVE!

Some are sleeping behind their money,
some are hiding behind their pride.
Some have built themselves a fortress
with no windows to the outside.

Some are frightened of tomorrow,
some are prisoners of yesterday.
Some have buried all their tenderness
and forgotten how to pray.

But Love is not a prisoner!
Love was never meant to hide!
Love is not a little candle
you can put away inside!

LET IT OUT!
LET IT OUT!

Let it thunder!

LET IT THUNDER!

Let it shake the ground beneath us!

SHAKE THE GROUND!
SHAKE THE GROUND!

Let it wake the sleeping nations!

WAKE THEM UP!
WAKE THEM UP!

But tell me, children…

What if nobody answers?

We keep singing, Dear Mother.

And if nobody listens?

We keep loving.
We keep loving!

And if the whole world
turns its back?

We love them anyway.

Ohhhhhh!

Listen to these children!

LISTEN TO THESE CHILDREN!

They know what the world
has forgotten!

LOVE DOESN’T WAIT
FOR PERMISSION!

LOVE DOESN’T NEED
YOUR APPLAUSE!

LOVE DOESN’T ASK
WHO DESERVES IT!

LOVE JUST LOVES
BECAUSE IT LOVES!

WAKE UP TO LOVE!
WAKE UP TO LOVE!
LET THE DRUMS OF THE EARTH
SHAKE THE HEAVENS ABOVE!

WAKE UP TO LOVE!
LET THE WHOLE WORLD SING!
LOVE IS THE POWER
THAT AWAKENS EVERYTHING!

FROM THE VALLEYS TO THE MOUNTAINS!
FROM THE RIVERS TO THE SEA!
EVERY CHILD OF EVERY NATION
HAS THE RIGHT TO BE LOVED
AND THE RIGHT TO BE FREE!

WAKE UP!
WAKE UP!
WAKE UP TO LOVE!

WHO’S GOING TO WAKE UP THE WORLD?

WE ARE!
WE ARE!

AND WHAT ARE WE GOING TO WAKE IT UP TO?

LOVE!
LOVE!
LOVE!

THEN SING IT, CHILDREN!

SING IT
UNTIL THE WALLS COME DOWN!

WAKE UP TO LOVE!
WAKE UP TO LOVE!
WAKE UP TO LOVE!

There now…

I knew somebody
was listening.
