That’s my Mom. I was born on her birthday. If you are lucky, like me, your mother sets you on the right track in life, you mirror her, her love, her values, and her wisdom. Mirror neurons are powerful, and they are shaped by your mother in an especially powerful ways. I have worked with abused and neglected children; maternal deprivation can create deep, long-lasting challenges that carry into adulthood. Because a primary caregiver serves as the original blueprint for how to navigate the world, a lack of this early bond shapes a person’s nervous system, emotional habits, and future relationships. The love we mirror to others is life-shaping. When we actively offer empathy, warmth, and care, we do not just change a single moment; we physically alter the neural architecture and emotional futures of the people around us. In other words, radiating love makes your world a better place. You are not just a passive observer of your world. Through the biological reality of mirroring, you are an active architect of it.
